The Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre is proud to announce its annual art festival, Art at the Pumphouse, will take place on Saturday, August 3rd, and Sunday, August 4th, 2024. The event offers an enriching experience filled with art, musical performances, and activities for all ages in the riverside setting.
During the two-day event, guests will have the opportunity to meet talented artists and artisans on-site and immerse themselves in the scenic beauty of the riverside. Visitors can beat the summer heat by exploring the indoor galleries filled with unique pieces waiting to be discovered and owned. An online show will be available on the event page from July 15 – August 11, 2024, for those unable to attend in person. It also provides a sneak peek before the event and a recap to revisit artists from the memorable weekend.
A Diverse Palette
This highly anticipated weekend promises to bring together art lovers and a diverse lineup of talents for a celebration of creativity. Art at the Pumphouse showcases an array of original works, including paintings, photography, sculpture, woodwork, glass, pottery, textiles, jewelry, and more. Bringing together artists and artisans from both the region and beyond, the event will feature over 70 exhibitors, including Lynn Weiner, a local painter from Niagara-on-the-Lake. She expresses her enthusiasm for the event: “I look forward to Art at the Pumphouse each year as it is a great opportunity to show my art alongside the works of many other wonderful creators.” Weiner adds, “I think what I enjoy most about the weekend is meeting and having conversations with the people who come to the event. It is always exciting to see someone acquire a piece that will bring them pleasure for many years to come.”
Known for his wood sculptures, returning artist Davoud Khosravi from Campbellville, Ontario, states, “Art at the Pumphouse is a professionally organized show in a beautiful location. It attracts art lovers and supporters from the Niagara region and beyond.” He shares, “I am excited to exhibit my newest line of wood sculptures called ‘Body Language’ at Art at the Pumphouse this year. My work is abstract and organic in shape, inspired by the human form, emotions, and movement.”
This year’s event also marks the debut of Caitlin Wooll, a Niagara-on-the-Lake artist. Wooll is thrilled to be part of the art show: “I heard about the event several years ago and always wanted to participate. So, I’m excited for the whole experience: meeting the other participants, engaging with art appreciators in person, and the chance for my work to reach a wider audience.”
