Zehrs Welland has committed to a year-long partnership and provides a regular donation of breakfast items to Community Support Services Niagara’s wellness program.
Christine Bottenfield Bissonnette, a community development specialist for CSSN, said the agency is thankful to Zehrs for its support. She said partnerships with local businesses have a huge impact on the community and much of the work CSSN does wouldn’t be possible without generous donors.
“Their donation has enhanced the independence and improved the overall health and well-being of a vulnerable population residing in regional social housing which caters to seniors and adults with disabilities,” she said.
The not-for-profit is a volunteer-based, client-driven community support service to help seniors and adults with disabilities live independently in their own homes.
In November of last year, the Niagara Street grocery store committed to a year-long monthly donation of bananas, yogurt and bagels to CSSN’s wellness program, which supports seniors and adults with disabilities.
The not-for-profit offers a variety of services, including grocery delivery, volunteer visiting, transportation and social programs such as the Lunch Out program.
