We are pleased to announce that the 12th Annual Julia’s Hope Cup will be returning to our traditional annual pond hockey tournament and carnival on Saturday, February 18th, 2023 at Chippawa Park Pond in Welland.

Julia’s Hope Cup is a celebration of the life of Julia Turner and her humanitarian spirit, while raising funds in support of The Hope Centre.

Funds raised will go towards The Hope Centre’s food security programs. Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020 over 5,000 individuals who live in Welland have used their emergency food bank, that is 10% of the population of Welland.

The Hope Centre supports more than 1,000 individuals and families each month who are experiencing food insecurity through their emergency food bank and community lunch program. 25% of individuals accessing these programs are children and youth under the age of 18 years old.
