Welland Creatives Network is excited to announce that we are bringing back an exciting community art event, the Welland Easter Art Hunt!

The Welland Easter Art Hunt was started in 2014 by WCN Board member Chris Lagesten, along with (now defunct) local art group BLX, and the event ran for 4 years. The event involves a hunt for colourful plastic eggs hidden in various locations around the Welland Downtown core. Each egg will contain a numbered certificate that the lucky finder will be able to redeem for a piece of artwork that has been donated by a local artist. “Its a perfect opportunity to walk around Welland’s ‘Cultural District’, check out some public art, and if you are lucky, find an Easter egg that wins you a great piece of art from a local artist!” says Lagesten.

This years event will see The Bank Art House as “home base”, where everyone will be able to stop in to exchange their eggs for art and have a chance to meet some of the artists as well as check out some art on display. The hunt will take place the morning of April 8th at approximately 10 AM and is a free, family friendly, activity that creates awareness of the local art community and allows the general public a chance to own an original piece of artwork created by a local artist.
