The City of Welland is implementing additional live stream webcam viewing of public spaces on the city’s website. The Welland BMX & Skateboard Park can now be viewed in real-time at https://www.welland.ca/parks/skatepark.asp. Other public spaces are also being considered for webcams.

Having visual access to public areas allows viewers to connect with a public space when visiting the space is not an option. Live webcam viewing also provides a safety factor and is a surveillance tool for crime and vandalism.

Live webcam viewing was first initiated in 2015 with the opening of Welland Civic Square, giving website visitors access to 24-hour observation of the Front Plaza at Welland Civic Square.
