Over the past 15 months, there have been over 25,000 Canadians who we have lost due to COVID-19. These people were mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, grandparents, children and friends. They were our loved ones. The pandemic has made it increasingly hard for families to grieve in ‘normal’ ways and every day we see the additional stress our current situation puts families in. It is our hope that we look towards the future to a time when we can welcome the public back into our funeral home so families can be supported and comforted by relatives and friends.
In honour of those we have lost to COVID-19, red geraniums are being planted at Arbor Memorial locations across Canada as a sign of remembrance. We know the pain of grief and we know the hardships COVID-19 has created for families. This is a small gesture to show our support to families to have lost a loved one to COVID-19 and a special tribute to them.
Here’s some photos of our special tribute garden planted locally at Pleasantview. We hope this brings comfort and hope to those who need it most.
