Community invited to learn how responsible management sparks positive change
April 2 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

In a world where businesses are increasingly expected to be forces for good, Brock University’s Goodman School of Business is bringing together thought leaders, industry experts and community members to talk about what it means to be a responsible manager.
The online event, ‘Business with purpose: Responsible management for a better future,’ takes place Wednesday, April 2. It marks the 10th in a series of Goodman-led Business Matters panels and will be moderated by Associate Professor of Marketing Todd Green. The event will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer period.
“In an era of rapid change and growing global challenges, responsible management is no longer optional — it’s essential,” Green said. “Businesses have the power to drive positive societal impact, but only if they prioritize ethics, sustainability and long-term value creation.”
The panel of experienced leaders will discuss how responsible management is set to shape the future of business, exploring how leaders can navigate emerging challenges and drive impact beyond the bottom line.
“Responsible business leaders are developed one decision at a time and this discussion will focus on how leaders can navigate complexity while staying true to their purpose, ensuring a future where success and social responsibility go hand in hand,” Green said.
Panellists include:
- Dave Bouckenooghe, Professor of Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management, Goodman School of Business
- Mark Carpenter, Chief Growth Officer, ChangeMakers
- Rhonda Klosler (BBA ’93), Chief Operating Officer, RSM Canada LLP
- Ted Harrison, Founder and CEO, neuemotion
Launched in 2015, the annual Business Matters series highlights current issues in the business world. Previous discussions, which can be viewed online, have touched on topics such as changing landscapes in the music industry and social media, how businesses can adapt to changing climate conditions, how organizations can make more inclusive decisions and taking an artisanal approach to business, among other topics.
