📢 CALLING ALL COMMUNITY MEMBERS 📢
This year, the Welland Public Library will begin celebrating its 100th anniversary!
To commemorate this milestone, we’ve commissioned an artists’ group from Edmonton called Mural Mosaics to design a mural representing the past, present, and future of the library and our great community, an opportunity made possible by the Ontario Seniors Community Grant Program.
The mosaic will be made up of 600 canvas tiles – each one a unique image – that will ultimately be joined together to form a single image 8 ft. by 12 ft. mural. The mural will be installed at the Main Branch library upon completion.
We are reaching out to community members and organizations to lend a hand with the painting. This collaborative art project provides a unique way to connect with one another and have a little fun – even from a distance. All painting will take place in February.
Art kits that include all required materials and simple instructions will be provided free-of-charge to those interested. No artistic experience is needed.
Tiles are limited to one per person (while supplies last). Contactless pick up or delivery times will be arranged in the coming weeks.
If interested in being a part of this lasting community artwork, please email mbestward@wellandlibrary.ca or call (905) 734-6210 ext. 2513
