What does “home” mean to you? A physical building, a state of mind, or feeling? Did something happen that changed your perspective?

The pandemic refrain of “Stay at Home”, the great migration to smaller Ontario cities, and the current housing and refugee crisis, have many of us questioning the idea of home.

Under the Direction of Ren Reid, emerging artists Tyler Simpson and Fechi Onyegbule have been conducting public interviews with our community each weekend in Downtown St. Catharines. posing the question, “What does home mean to you?” Emerging visual artist Aggie Zalenda has been facilitating the creative visual expression of this theme.

Thanks to the many amazing locals who stopped by to chat in person and online, we heard some incredible stories, opinions, and memories from a wide cross-section of our community.

With YOUR stories and some of our own, THE HOME PROJECT was born!
