There’s something about Eye Care Welland that makes me think about the theme song from the old television series Cheers – you know the one?
“Sometimes you wanna go, where everybody knows your name – and they’re always glad you came!”
From the moment that I first opened the door at this gem of a local business I was welcomed with a friendly greeting as I have every time that I have dropped by since.
Admittedly, I have a terrible habit of not always placing my glasses back into a case when I take them off. As a near sighted person this invariably happens every time that I park my car or I need to take them off to read or just have a clear look at anyone that I am talking too.
Hopefully that helps you get the picture about why I need to have my glasses fixed or adjusted rather frequently. Each time I sheepishly bring them to my friends at Welland Eye Care they fix them with a smile and a laugh and refuse to charge a repair fee.In fact, they seem to take it as a personal challenge to solve every situation. During my last visit, Optician, Lisa Klein would not give up until she – in her own words -“MacGyvered’ a fix for me by finding a obsolete screw from a discarded frame in the shop and regrinding the edge of one of the lenses to make it fit better.
I met Lisa on my first visit a few years ago. I had my latest prescription in hand and I was determined to change up my look a bit with some fun, fashion frames. However, this is easier said than done when you are faced with the incredible selection at Welland Eye Care! She expertly assisted me through the process and helped me narrow done my selections to the styles that best suited the shape of my face and provided the most comfortable fit. All the while we shared a few laughs and I selected my turquoise metal frames that are still one my personal favourites.
I should also point out that the prices at Eye Care Welland are incredibly affordable. I now own three pairs of glasses and plan to add more to my collection. I have no interest in ordering them online when I can get such outstanding personal service so close to home.
It always amazes me how the Eye Care Welland team seems to know everyone that walks in the door. Whether it is Lisa that you are dealing with or her colleagues, Optical Assistant, Shelley Logan or Registered Optician/Owner, Chad Sculley, you are in good hands. This week, I went in to have my updated eye examination with Optometrist, Dr. Petra Cantrup. Again, another very comfortable experience at Eye Care Welland.
It is no wonder that they experience such a high return client rate to the point of knowing so many of their customers names to the point of remembering the names of their parents and children too. Most likely it is because they are all their clients too!
