The Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority wishes you all a happy and safe holiday season! Our main office in Welland will be closed from December 23 to January 2 (inclusive) and will reopen for regular business hours on January 3, 2024.
All NPCA conservation areas remain open daily from sunrise to sunset for passive recreation such as winter hiking and birdwatching. Find a list of parks near you at https://buff.ly/3vjfP8g. Washroom facilities will not be available until the spring.
Ball’s Falls Conservation Area is also open for passive recreation and washroom facilities are only available when the Centre for Conservation is open. The Centre will be closed for the holidays starting December 23 and will reopen to the public on January 2, 2024.
For the remainder of the year, both Ball’s Falls and Binbrook Conservation Area will offer an off-season rate of $8.50 per vehicle. Starting January, a shoulder-season rate of $9 will be in effect until March 31.
A friendly reminder to ensure that pets always remain on leash while visiting conservation areas. Follow the ‘poop and scoop’ policy and dispose of litter in designated receptacles only.
Please note that during the winter season, conservation area trails are not maintained, and parking lot and sidewalks will be maintained on ‘as-required’ basis. Always use caution and prepare appropriately for the weather and trail conditions. Please expect maintenance delays in the event of heavy snowfall. Visit https://buff.ly/2vEMATH for more information.
