Niagara College’s highly anticipated Chef Signature Series is ready to turn up the heat, Mardi Gras style, on October 5 featuring special guest Chef Eric Martinez.
Martinez, Executive Chef from the Orlando World Centre Marriott – the largest Marriott in the world – will bring the tastes of Louisiana to Benchmark for this unique culinary event to be held at NC’s Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Guests can enjoy a speakeasy bar and reception style experience with action food stations throughout the event both indoors and outside on the patio. The menu will include items such as a Cajun Charcuterie Board, New Orleans-style BBQ Shrimp over Tasso Grits, Crawfish Étouffée, Duck and Andouille Gumbo and more, along with NC wine, beer and New Orleans-inspired cocktails.
NC’s popular Chef Signature Series not only gives the public a chance to savour dishes from visiting chefs from around the world, it serves up valuable learning experiences for students.
Students who work at Benchmark as well as student volunteers from the College’s School of Culinary Arts, and School of Hospitality and Tourism will have a chance to be a part of the action during the October 5 event. On the days leading up to the Chef Signature Series, many students will have opportunities to interact with the visiting chef as he presents to culinary classes and tours various on-campus learning enterprises including the Teaching Winery, Teaching Brewery, Teaching Distillery, Teaching Greenhouse and more.
