Following a highly successful virtual end of the season presentation, Chorus Niagara Children’s Choir (CNCC) looks ahead to the summer months and continuing its programming this fall.
The CNCC will continue to deliver a quality choral music education program to the children in the Niagara region this September, with modifications.
Artistic Director Amanda Nelli notes,
Normally our focus is to deliver high calibre performances. This year, we will focus on the process, develop the skills of each chorister, and help them build connections with the children in their community. Through the Zoom online platform, we will give our singers small group vocal and theory instruction, provide fun workshops like theatre, American Sign Language, and art lessons, and engage and collaborate with other arts organizations in our community.
Detailed information on CNCC plan for the fall is available at their NEW website HERE
We know that this is a very overwhelming time for the kids. We want to give them a safe space where they can be creative, have fun, and develop their musical knowledge and skills. We have an exciting virtual concert planned with award-winning Canadian radio personality and baritone Brian Salmon, (91.7 GiantFM) in December. We hope to rehearse in small groups after January, if we are able and to create a combined virtual and live spring concert performance. We will begin our rehearsals in person as soon as public health deems it safe, in the meantime, we will continue with our exciting online programming, says Ms.Nelli.
An EARLY BIRD discount of 20% is offered to families who register their children for fall start programs prior to August 1st. A secure online registration form is available HERE
CNCC also offers two virtual musical summer camp weeks in July with Training and Intermediate Conductor Jennifer McKillop. Under the Sea for ages 4-7 ($45) and Virtual Spotlight for ages 8-14 ($65). Both online camps run July 20-24. Summer camp information is available on the CNCC Facebook page HERE In addition to conducting for CNCC, Jennifer also owns Grimsby’s FUN School of Music and is a veteran music educator, vocalist and graduate of the Voice Performance Music program at Brock University.
