The Visual Artists of Welland have decided to host a sale of Sunflower paintings, and other subjects relevant to the Ukrainian people. The location will be the Gallery at the Seaway Mall, next to Northern Reflections and near the Food Court. This will be entirely from donated works of art and photography by members of the VAW, not just those showing in the Gallery. All proceeds from these donated items will be given to the Canadian Red Cross Ukrainian Relief Fund, and will be eligible to be matched by the Canadian Government. The sale will begin March 1st and run until March 15th or until we run out of paintings, whichever comes first. The Niagara Region, and indeed Canada, has as large Ukrainian community and we all want to be there for them and their families during this crisis. We are asking for your support. You will not only be donating to a necessary cause, but you will take home a piece of art to remind you that we cannot ignore those in need of our help.
