On October 28 , 2020 Miller Restoration DKI along with NSIBA & Restoration Contractors, participated in a yearly Welland tradition, “Halloween on the Grange” a spooky event with a great cause.

24 Grange Ave. Welland is famous for their extensive Halloween display complete with the famous coffin and lots tombstones. Beyond being the scariest place on the block, this event is also a fundraiser where they collect donations for the SickKids Foundation, a cause close to their heart and a cause close to Miller Restoration DKI’s heart as well, so when the opportunity to be a part of this event, the Miller Restoration DKI team jumped at joining on.

Miller Restoration DKI’s original owner Greg Miller, has always believed in giving back to their community, a sentiment still held by the current owners, Matthew and Tracy Holmwood. Both believed community engagement is not only the right thing to do but can also provide an enduring shared benefit for all involved.

The event, hosted by the Wilson family, also have a close connection to the SickKids Foundation a charity chosen by the homes previous owners, as well we the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. “When I was probably about 13, a friend of mine had leukemia. My sister and I went out trick-or-treating and we came home that night and we found out that he had passed,” said Wilson. “So back in that time, too, my parents had put on a big fundraiser for SickKids … so it just worked out that this is what it is.” Wilson told a news source.

Miller Restoration DKI along with NSIBA & Restoration Contractors and the Mayor of Welland, handed over a cheque for $3,600 to the Wilson family, made out to the SickKids Foundation.

The display will be up until Halloween when the Wilsons will be safely handing out candy to trick or treaters.
