World IBD Day was proclaimed in the City of Welland at Council on May 19, 2020. Locally we have an extra special connection to this day of action with Welland Teen, Emma Haist currently serving as the National Honorary Chair for Crohn’s and Colitis Canada

The actual flag raising was delayed until today due to Covid-19 restrictions. Emma joined with Mayor Frank Campion and Deputy Fire Chief at Welland Civic Square and together they did the ceremonial flag-raising.

The 25th annual #GutsyWalk will be held virtually on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at over 60 locations across Canada. Every year, tens of thousands of Canadians take part in the Gutsy Walk, Crohn’s and Colitis Canada’s largest single day fundraiser. You can learn more here: https://gutsywalk.ca/virtual
