Rotary Club of Fonthill Presents E.L. Crossley Secondary School with a District Grant for Outdoor Amphitheatre
Rotary Club of Fonthill has presented a cheque for $5300 to E. L. Crossley Secondary School to partially cover construction costs of an outdoor amphitheatre.
Through a joint effort in Crossley’s Art and Technology departments, they came up with a vision to develop an outdoor amphitheatre. This amphitheatre will work to support the goal of collaboration and celebrating the arts. It has been designed and built by students with partnerships in the community. It will act as a space for the Band, Drama and Visual Arts students to illustrate their talents, and for other Clubs and Visual Arts Classes to gather.
They used the existing ground topography to create tiered seating with a centre stage focus for teaching as well as performances. They incorporated the mature trees for shade and planted a pollinator garden to not only create an inviting space for all to use but to support awareness of native plant species.
