Superheroes Assemble for Niagara Children’s Centre’s Annual Fun Run
September 29 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
What: Superhero Run
When: Sunday, Sept. 29 from 8 a.m. to noon
Where: Brock University, St. Catharines, ON.
Niagara’s everyday heroes are gearing up to don their capes and costumes for a cause that’s close to the heart of the community. On Sunday, Sept. 29, hundreds will gather at Brock University for the annual Superhero Run, a family-friendly event designed to be inclusive and fun for all. The event features a 1K accessible course with engaging activity stations, ensuring that participants of all abilities can join in the excitement. Additionally, a scenic 2.5K loop around the University’s campus offers a chance to experience a race-like atmosphere without the pressure of a timed competition. Every step taken supports the vital programs and services provided by Niagara Children’s Centre to more than 6,500 children and youth with physical, developmental, and communicative delays or disabilities.
Why the Superhero Run Matters:
The Superhero Run is more than just an event; it’s a lifeline for families in the Niagara region. Funds raised through the event directly support essential services like physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language services, and augmentative communication. These contributions also enable the Centre to offer additional programs that aren’t covered by government funding, such as recreation therapy, behavioral consultation services, family support programs, and specialized aquatics. Every dollar raised helps to ensure that every child in Niagara has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Special Guests and Speakers:
- Mat Siscoe, May of St. Catharines
- Oksana Fisher, CEO, Niagara Children’s Centre
- Jessica Potts, President, Inspired Strategy Group
- Joe Viola and Grier Salter, The Viola-Salter Group, Scotia Wealth Management
- Niagara Children’s Centre volunteers
- 500+ local participants
How You Can Help:
The community’s support is vital to the success of the Superhero Run. Whether by participating, donating to an existing team, or simply spreading the word on social media, every effort counts. Join us in making a lasting impact on the lives of Niagara’s children and youth.
