18th Annual International Women’s Day Networking Luncheon and Business Showcase

Join the Fort Erie Chamber of Commerce for our Annual International Women’s Day event.
This year we are excited to host a panel discussion featuring homegrown success stories from women entrepreneurs who have made their mark in our community. Led by the Niagara Falls Small Business Enterprise Centre, become inspired by relatable and uplifting stories from women who have turned ideas into reality, overcome challenges, and found success in South Niagara.

Event Itinerary
10:30 am to 12:00 noon — registration
11:00 am to 12:00 noon – shopping of exhibitors
12:00 noon – call to order and luncheon served
1:15 pm – 2:00 pm – fireside chat with Ashlynn, Jessica, Brand & Rowe and Nyarai moderated by Dean Spironello
2:00 pm to 2 :30 pm – shopping of exhibitors.

A Bit About Our Panel of Four Local Entrepreneurs.
Ashlynn Ross, Planks Canada. Ashlynn Ross is a fashion designer, entrepreneur, and key contributor to the redevelopment of Crystal Beach. Ashlynn started Planks Canada in 2016 as a small store in Crystal Beach offering sustainable, ethically sourced, guilt-free shopping. Located at the iconic Derby Square, Planks Canada has grown into one of the Town’s most recognizable storefronts.
Nyarai Kapisavanhu, TOES Niagara. For nearly 10 years, Toes of Empowerment for Success (TOES) Niagara has been a champion of empowering immigrant and racially marginalized women. Founded and led by Welland-based social entrepreneur and community leader Nyarai Kapisavanhu, TOES Niagara has been instrumental in facilitating the economic empowerment of women throughout Niagara and has partnered with Brock University and DSBN on various community projects.
Jessica Silvestri, Bella Buddha Beads. Welland-based entrepreneur Jessica Silvestri started Bella Buddha Beads as a hobby, making one-of-a-kind handmade jewelry out of her home. Since 2016, Jessica has evolved her side hustle into a thriving e-commerce business and mobile boutique with hundreds of products found in stores all across Canada. Through Bella Buddha Beads, Jessica inspires positivity and gives back to charitable organizations in Niagara.
Brandy Henderson, Ownera Media. Brandy Henderson is the co-founder of Niagara Falls-based publishing and marketing agency Ownera Media. Established in 2017, Brandy and Ownera co-founder Rowe Prudente has been pivotal in helping local businesses, non-profits and public sector organizations share their story with Canadian and international consumers. Since 2019, Ownera has been publishing this popular Reveal Niagara Business Magazine.”
