Niagara Parks is proud to present its 2023 Coast to Coast Literary Series, “Canada’s Family Women.” All are welcome to attend this engaging and interactive series, celebrating the published creations of an exceptional selection of female Canadian authors.

The special four-part event series features an inspired line-up of literary women beginning on September 14 with Nova Scotia-based author Charlene Carr, who will explore themes of motherhood, racial identity, loss and betrayal in her latest novel,Hold My Girl. On October 12, critically acclaimed author, screenwriter, poet and playwright Elyse Friedman will share her thrilling, thought-provoking novel, The Opportunist. November 10 will welcome award-winning author and artist Sharon Frayne who will share a deep and compelling story of resilience and empathy in her novel, The Sound of a Rainbow. Concluding the series on December 14, Globe & Mail and Toronto Star bestselling author Amanda Peters will unveil the search for truth, the shadow of trauma and the persistence of love across time, in her novel, The Berry Pickers.

Each session of the “Canada’s Family Women” series will be held on the second Thursday of the month, from 7 – 9 p.m. Light refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be served (Niagara wines available by the glass) in the Welcome Centre at the Laura Secord Homestead, before moving into the Queenston Chapel, a lovingly restored 1800’s British Methodist Church.
