Niagara Francophonies Book Salon at the MIWSFPA
March 21 to 24, 2024
Beginning with the presentation of two puppet performances on the evening of Wednesday, March 20 (in collaboration with Maison de la culture francophone du Niagara), the Centre for Studies in Arts and Culture, the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures and SOFIFRAN invite you to the Salon du Livre des Francophonies du Niagara (SAFRAN). The four-day program includes readings, workshops, roundtable discussions, and presentations by publishers and small presses, including the Small Walker Press of Brock University.
All events are free to attend, some events require registration to participate.

STAC graduand Christy Mitchell presents a creative and critical response to the problem of the ephemeral contemporary image. Found and original photographs that provoke an inquiry into our connections to the photographic medium will be presented in an installation.

Odette England is a visual artist, writer, and scholar. She is a 2022 Guggenheim Foundation Fellow and has received grants and awards from the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, Puffin Foundation, and Anonymous Was a Woman, among many others. She has exhibited her work in more than 110 museums and galleries worldwide, published four award-winning photo books, and will release two more in 2024.

The BUSU Drive Home Program is available once again to students at the Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts, getting everyone home safely. Starting Sunday, March 31 and running to April 22, 2024, students who are studying late in the building can request a free ride home with Zoom Zoom. The service runs 11 p.m. to 4 a.m., Sunday to Thursday, and requests can be made through the Zoom Zoom app using “BADGERS.” Pick up is from the lobby entrance at MIW; students studying at the library can also use this program. Annual Brock Visual Arts exhibition opens at local culinary hot spot
Brock’s Department of Visual Art (VISA) is inviting the community to enjoy its Annual Juried Exhibition in a unique new home this year.
In partnership with Dispatch Restaurant, the exhibition will showcase selected artwork of VISA students, faculty and staff until Sunday, April 28 in downtown St. Catharines.
Sonya Marie de Lazzer, Gallery Co-ordinator and Instructor at the Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts (MIWSFPA), said collaborating with the team at Dispatch was a valuable experience for the Department, especially the students.
