Yes, it’s Mashtini time again!
The TD Niagara Jazz Festival’s all-time favourite annual Disco Dance Party Mashtini Fundraiser, now in its 11th year, is kicking off springtime fever, with live music, dancing, ‘mashtinis’, and all that jazz.
For those of you who might be new to this annual phenomenon, all you need to do is head to White Oaks
Resort and Spa on Friday March 6th, grab a martini glass, fill it with gourmet mashed potatoes and get ready to dance to the Disco Funk live music of HAUSQUAKE. Add friends, fun, outrageous Disco attire, and there’s the recipe for the TD Niagara Jazz Festival’s Disco Dance Party Mashtini Fundraiser.
Enjoy a complimentary ‘Mashtini’, plus a cash bar, raffles, door prizes, a 50/50 draw, traditional silent auction items, as well as unique gifts and experiences from TD Niagara Jazz Festival partners.
The theme is 70’s and Disco, so dig out your widest bell-bottoms, tie-dyed shirts and those fabulous platforms shoes, and be ready to win the prize for Best Disco Mashtini Costume of 2020!
In a time of reduced government funding, many arts groups are now forced to rely more heavily on corporate and individual fundraising campaigns. The Mashtini Fundraiser helps to ensure that Juliet Dunn, Executive Director of the TD Niagara Jazz Festival, can keep presenting some of the best jazz musicians in the country, and fan-favourite music events including numerous free community experiences, Jazz in the Park, Niagara’s Summer Mardi Gras Parade, World Music on the Beach (Port Dalhousie), Vieni Estates Sparkle Fest (‘Jazz 4 the Ages’ Youth Finals) and so much more – making it one of the most unique summer festivals in Ontario.
Toronto Life, February 2020:
“One of Six Reasons to Visit Niagara”: Though Toronto and Ottawa also have their own jazz fests, TD Niagara Jazz Festival is a far superior option, not least of all because it lets you combine great music with intimate venues scattered around the region’s charming wine country.
