REACH Niagara, an organization dedicated to making healthcare equitable and accessible for vulnerable community members, is thrilled to announce that it has received funding from Hydro One’s prestigious 2024 Energizing Life Community Fund. This collaboration heralds a new chapter in REACH Niagara’s journey toward fostering a healthier and more inclusive community for all Ontarians.
“The funding received from the Energizing Life Community Fund makes a direct impact on the services we can provide in Niagara,” said Carolyn Dyer, REACH Niagara Executive Director. “Peer health services are a critical part of building trusting relationships, which ultimately improves the chances of community members seeking healthcare when they need it, getting the care every community member deserves, avoiding emergency department visits, and worsening conditions. We are grateful for the support of Hydro One for making healthcare equitable and accessible.”
Hydro One’s commitment to energizing communities aligns seamlessly with REACH Niagara’s mission. Through this collaboration, REACH Niagara aims to bolster its efforts in providing accessible primary care, counseling, system navigation, and harm reduction healthcare services to those in need across Niagara.
For the fourth consecutive year, Hydro One is awarding funds to Indigenous communities, charitable organizations, and municipalities that address local community needs. This year, after receiving a record-high number of applications from across the province, 35 local initiatives have each received $25,000 in funding from the Energizing Life Community Fund.
“We’re incredibly proud to support REACH Niagara in providing caring connections between members of their community and the resources needed to improve their daily lives,” said Lisa Pearson, Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs, Hydro One. “We congratulate the team and are excited to see how they will continue to make a positive impact on those who need it most.”
