Habitat for Humanity Niagara is kicking off the new year with an exciting volunteer recruitment campaign focused on health, fitness and community impact.
The organization is seeking energetic individuals to join their ReStore volunteer team to help accept donations and move inventory to the retail space while staying active and giving back to their community.
As we head into 2025, many people are looking for ways to get healthy and give back. Habitat Niagara ReStores—home improvement stores that sell gently used furniture, appliances, home décor, kitchens and building materials—are a perfect place to combine fitness goals with meaningful community work. The proceeds from Habitat Niagara ReStores fund Habitat for Humanity Niagara and help build homes in the community for local families in need of a safe and affordable place to call home.
“Volunteering at the ReStore is more than just giving your time,” said Kimberly Hughes, volunteer coordinator at Habitat Niagara. “It’s about building strength—in our bodies, our community and for the families we serve. It’s the perfect way to start the year with purpose.”
The ReStore is looking for volunteers in its warehouse to assist with lifting and moving donations, organizing inventory and supporting the store’s operations. The ReStore is also recruiting customer service volunteers to assist on the retail floor. Whether you’re looking to get active, meet new people or contribute to a cause that changes lives, Habitat for Humanity Niagara welcomes you to the team.
Getting involved as a volunteer at the ReStore is a fulfilling way to stay active, make a meaningful impact and enjoy flexible scheduling. By helping to lift, move and organize donations in the warehouse, volunteers can stay fit while working alongside a dedicated team. Each shift directly supports the mission of providing safe and affordable homeownership for local families. With volunteer opportunities available during the week and on Saturdays, it’s easy to find a time that fits your schedule.
Habitat for Humanity Niagara proudly owns and operates three local ReStores in Fonthill, Grimsby and St. Catharines.
