Meals on Wheels Welland/Pelham is still running both hot and frozen meal delivery services. Hot meals are delivered Monday to Friday between 11:00am and 1:00pm. Hot meals include an entrée, soup and dessert for $6.50. Billed monthly.

Frozen meals are delivered Thursdays between 8:30am and 11:00am. Entrée $5.75, Soup $2.50, Dessert $2.00. Billed monthly.

Niagara Region, ON March 18, 2020 – Meals on Wheels Association of Niagara (MOWAN) announced today that Meals on Wheels Programs are committed to continuing their operations during the COVID-19 pandemic. Each week dedicated volunteers deliver approximately 1500 hot meals and 1350 frozen meals to clients living in the Niagara Region. Meals on Wheels is designed to ensure that our clients receive a nutritious meal and that their safety and well- being is checked. This vital service allows people to remain healthier and independent in their own homes.

Leslie Kennedy, MOWAN Chair says, “In these stressful times, it seems more important than ever to provide meals and check on the well-being of the most vulnerable people in our communities. The health and safety of our clients and volunteers is of utmost importance. All Meals on Wheels agencies have established screening procedures for clients and volunteers adhering to the Ministry of Health standards. Adjustments to standard delivering practices have been modified to meet challenges of COVID-19. Hopefully we will see an end to the COVID-19 Pandemic in the very near future and we can return to regular delivery of the program that offers much more than just a meal.”
