After watching Julie and Julia, Meaghan (Meg) Gizuk was inspired to start a home decor blog to chronicle the home renovations she and her husband Trevor were undertaking.
She named the blog Oliver and Rust. Read the Notes from Meg blog here.
After enjoying the attention of several national magazines and lifestyle blogs, Meg began selling some of the homemade pillows and vintage items she featured on the blog. Demand grew. And that’s how it all began.
Oliver and Rust is truly an extension of Meg & Trevor’s home. Eventually, Meg left her career in dental hygiene to focus her attention on Oliver and Rust full time. In 2015, she opened a brick and mortar store where she continues to serve her family of loyal customers today.
Oliver and Rust carries a wide array of antiques, gourmet food items, pillows, home décor, planters and a large unique selection of plants.
Meg still sews most of the pillows in the shop, discerningly chooses the plants we carry from many local greenhouses, and along with Trevor, continues to handpick our vintage items, from places near and far.
Good enough is not in our vocabulary. Everything we carry has been deemed amazing, in order to earn our approval.
