Urgent Appeal for support during COVID-19
As the COVID-19 pandemic unfolds, Women’s Place urgently needs your support to ensure that Niagara’s most vulnerable women and children continue to have a place to turn to when home is not safe. We are anticipating a dramatic increase in the instances and severity of domestic violence as the self-isolation measures currently in place put victims of abuse at increased risk of violence. The pandemic is also creating unexpected financial pressures for our shelters as fundraising events will be affected and additional expenses, such as providing hotels rooms for women and their families, are anticipated as we try to meet social distancing requirements.
