A Look Back at the History of Fruit Farming in Niagara
August 22 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
With Mary Lou Garr, 7 – 8:30 p.m.
Beginning with the wild fruits that once grew in Niagara, Mary Lou Garr takes us on a journey through the evolution of fruit farming in the region. From the early farming enterprises of the Loyalists, to experimental farm research, the development of farm co-ops, the rise of basket and canning industries, and the emergence of fruit tourism – we’ll explore all the fruit industry has brought to Niagara over the centuries.
Presentation on behalf of the Friends of Lincoln’s History.
