Twenty-six Niagara College student-athletes from the 2022-23 school year have been recognized with Canadian College Athletic Association National Scholar Awards.
Recipients must achieve honours standing in their program while competing as an intercollegiate athlete. At Niagara, student-athletes must finish the season with an 80-plus average and demonstrate their success on the playing field and in the classroom.
“We are so very proud of our Niagara College Knights student-athletes,” said Michele O’Keefe, Niagara’s director of athletics and student engagement. “The time it takes to be successful both on the court and off the court is significant and our student-athletes have demonstrated a great commitment to reach the standards for this award.”
Receiving the awards were: men’s basketball’s Reggie Williams; women’s basketball’s Emma Fraser and Janee Harrison; men’s soccer’s Christian Buccella, David Hall, Travis Korten, Joel Marinas and Noah Vogel; women’s soccer’s Valerie Andrew, Alyssa Arcand, Sierra Boone and Tori Hultink; men’s volleyball’s Tyler Carmichael, Tiernan Currie, Zach Reimer, Jordan Schroeder and Andrew Vandenburg; women’s volleyball’s Lauren Alguire, Kyrah Cameron, Natasha Desjardins and Montanna Taylor; and, women’s curling’s Amelia Bender, Melissa Borowski, Amy Danen, Emma Hill and Claire Randell.
