The Port Colborne Historical Society will meet at Portal Village Retirement Home on Monday, February 17th at 7pm.

Guest speaker Janet Hodgkins is a member of the United Empire Loyalists Association of Canada.  Her topic will be “Is There a Loyalist in Your Family Tree?  The Niagara Peninsula became home to thousands of Loyalists after the American Revolution.  The Crown gave land grants of 200 acres per person to encourage their resettlement as the Government wanted to develop the frontier of Upper Canada.
