Fishing season returns to St. Johns Conservation Area on Friday, April 26, with the park opening at 8 a.m. This scenic spot, known for its peaceful surroundings and family-friendly atmosphere, offers a great way to enjoy spring in the heart of nature.
There will be no formal opening day event this year, but NPCA staff will be on-site to assist with parking. Visitors are welcome to come out, cast their lines, and enjoy a relaxing day outdoors with family and friends.
Anglers are reminded that both NPCA Conservation Area Rules and Ontario Fishing Regulations apply. Please note the following guidelines:
- Must have a valid Ontario fishing license
- Refrain from using live bait
- Practice catch and release
- Do not leave bait behind to help prevent the spread of invasive species
- Pack out any garbage or use designated receptacles
Admission to the conservation area is free, and donations to the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Foundation can be made at the park gate to support ongoing environmental efforts.
Park washrooms will be available. Guests should bring their own fishing gear and are encouraged to carpool, as parking is limited.
