Tim Hortons® Smile Cookie Campaign is Back, Supporting Wellspring Niagara in Fonthill
September 14 - September 20
From September 14 to September 20, the full $1 from every Smile Cookie sold in Fonthill will support Wellspring Niagara Cancer Support Foundation.
Last year, Tim Hortons® restaurant owners and guests across the country raised a record $9.8 million to support local charities through their annual Smile Cookie campaign. Back again for its 24th year, Tim Hortons Smile Cookie week will support charities in communities across the country, including Wellspring Niagara in Fonthill – one of 550 Canadian charities, hospitals and community programs supported through the annual campaign.
For one week, from September 14 – 20, restaurant owners will donate the full $1 from every freshly baked chocolate chunk Smile Cookie purchased to support charities in their community. Guests can complete a form to place pre-orders for Smile Cookies through their restaurant in Fonthill.
This year, purchase a Smile Cookie at any of the THREE Fonthill Tim Hortons locations; 2325 Highway 20 East, 130 Highway 20 East, and 151 Highway 20 West
“All proceeds from the 2020 Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign will be directed towards the important supportive programs and services offered free of charge, to patients, caregivers and families, whom are impacted with cancer. Since March 14, 2020, we had to suspend face-to-face programs due to COVID 19. However, we managed to take many of our programs virtually into the homes of patients and families living with cancer. Cancer doesn’t wait. With help from the 2020 Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign, Wellspring Niagara will able to continue meeting our program needs and ensure that they remain free of charge.”
-Ann Mantini-Celima, Executive Director, Wellspring Niagara
“Communities coming together during these difficult times is more important than ever. Our restaurant team members and I are excited to continue working with our local charity partners, Wellspring Niagara, to raise as much as possible to support their local programs. We encourage all of our guests throughout our annual Smile Cookie week to support their local charities by purchasing a freshly baked Smile Cookie at Tim Hortons for just $1.”
-Stephanie McWilliams Tim Hortons Restaurant Owner, Fonthill
“Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve been treating local food banks, hospitals and charities to our coffee trucks and baked goods as they support their communities day in and day out. We’re continuing to support these organizations as we kick off our annual Smile Cookie week, one of our largest restaurant owner-led initiatives, that continues to support local charities who need it most. We’re so excited Smile Cookie is back for its 24th year.”
-Hope Bagozzi, Chief Marketing Officer, Tim Hortons

About Wellspring Niagara
Wellspring Niagara is a Regional Cancer Support Centre that offers free social, emotional, psychological, rehabilitative and informational support to people coping with the realities of cancer every day. A not-for-profit charitable organization, Wellspring Niagaraopened its doors in June 2001 and serves residents from all across the Niagara Region. Every year since, Wellspring Niagara has raised the funds required for its operations because of the generous financial and voluntary support received from the people and businesses in Niagara – the community we serve.
All programs are offered free to all of our members to eliminate the worry of any financial burden during this stressful time. Wellspring Niagara has grown from registering 700 attendances in 2001 (73 people) to registering 6,731 attendances (980 people) in 2019. Since opening our doors, we have registered more than 84,198 program attendances from men, women and children who are impacted with the turmoil, fear, despair and isolation brought on by a cancer diagnosis.
Wellspring Niagara receives NO government funding and is not supported by any other cancer-related organization. We rely solely on the financial support of the community we serve, where 100% of the proceeds we raise stay in the Niagara Region. As Niagara’s only cancer support centre, the demand for our programs and services are at an all-time high, with new needs continuing to emerge. In order for Wellspring Niagara to continue meeting this ever-growing need, we must raise the necessary funds to provide quality-based programming to those we are serving today and will serve in the future.
