Restaurant owner from Fonthill is donating 100% of proceeds from sales of Smile Cookies to Wellspring Niagara on October 16, 2020 at 130 Highway 20 East Tim Hortons Marketplace Location
NIAGARA, OCTOBER 15, 2020 – Tim Hortons restaurant owners and millions of generous Canadians across the country together broke a new Smile Cookie record by raising $10.56 million for local charities across the country.
This year in FONTHILL, local Tim Hortons restaurant owner Stephanie McWilliams and guests helped raise $13,347.40 to support Wellspring Niagara. The funds will be used to continue the FREE cancer supportive programming offered at Wellspring Niagara for individuals, caregivers, and loved ones living with cancer.
“All proceeds from this year’s successful Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign will be directed towards the important supportive programs and services offered free of charge, to patients, caregivers and families, whom are impacted with cancer. Since March 14, 2020, we had to suspend face-to-face programs due to COVID 19. However, we managed to take many of our programs virtually into the homes of patients and families living with cancer. Cancer doesn’t wait. With the incredible funds raised from the 2020 Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign, Wellspring Niagara will able to continue meeting our program needs and ensure that they remain free of charge.” -Ann Mantini-Celima, Executive Director, Wellspring Niagara
“We were absolutely blown away by the generosity of Canadians for our annual Smile Cookie campaign,” says Tim Hortons Chief Marketing Officer Hope Bagozzi.
Tim Hortons restaurant owners across Canada will be presenting their local charity partners with Smile Cookie cheques throughout October, including a presentation at Tim Hortons, 130 Highway 20, Fonthill on October 15 for Wellspring Niagara.

Wellspring Niagara is a Regional Cancer Support Centre that offers free social, emotional, psychological, rehabilitative and informational support to people coping with the realities of cancer every day. A not-for-profit charitable organization, Wellspring Niagara opened its doors in June 2001 and serves residents from all across the Niagara Region. Every year since, Wellspring Niagara has raised the funds required for its operations because of the generous financial and voluntary support received from the people and businesses in Niagara – the community we serve.
All programs are offered free to all of our members to eliminate the worry of any financial burden during this stressful time. Wellspring Niagara has grown from registering 700 attendances in 2001 (73 people) to registering 6,731 attendances (980 people) in 2019. Since opening our doors, we have registered more than 84,198 program attendances from men, women and children who are impacted with the turmoil, fear, despair and isolation brought on by a cancer diagnosis.
Wellspring Niagara receives NO government funding and is not supported by any other cancer-related organization. We rely solely on the financial support of the community we serve, where 100% of the proceeds we raise stay in the Niagara Region. As Niagara’s only cancer support centre, the demand for our programs and services are at an all-time high, with new needs continuing to emerge. In order for Wellspring Niagara to continue meeting this ever-growing need, we must raise the necessary funds to provide quality-based programming to those we are serving today and will serve in the future.
