The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake is preparing to host once again NOTL Gives Back, a drive-thru event benefiting a variety of vital support programs within our local municipality and beyond.
NOTL Gives Back will take place at Newark Neighbours, Niagara-on-the-Lake’s local food bank and thrift store located at 310 John Street East, on Friday, December 10, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The public is invited to drop off non-perishable food items, new and gently used clothing, warm winter coats, scarves, mittens, or toys in a drive-thru style event. Donations of food and Christmas gifts will be collected for Newark Neighbours’ Christmas Food Hamper and Gift programs, and new or gently used warm winter clothing will be collected and distributed throughout the Region via Newark Neighbours, Community Care, and The Mobile Closet.
“I am so excited for the return of this wonderful event that benefits so many in our community,” stated Lord Mayor Betty Disero. “Last year, NOTL Gives Back was a huge success as our residents were extremely generous in donating food and essential supplies. I encourage everyone to consider making a donation, no matter how big or small. These items make all the difference for individuals and families in need.”
“Giving back to our community, especially during this time of year, is important to the Town,” stated CAO Marnie Cluckie. “We have an amazing community of residents who look forward to these types of events, and I am confident that this year’s NOTL Gives Back, like last year’s, will be filled with so much generosity and thoughtfulness!”
Town Staff and Newark Neighbours volunteers will be on-site to assist donors during the event. If you are donating new and gently used clothing, we kindly ask that you identify which items are new and which are gently used.
Participants are encouraged to come dressed in festive wear to help get everyone in the holiday spirit! Visit notl.com/giveback for more information.
Those who cannot attend the event in person are invited to participate by dropping donations off in advance. Donations bins will be available, beginning December 1, at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Community Centre located at 10 Anderson Lane.
