ABOUT THE SHOW
The Music of a Charlie Brown Christmas takes audiences on a nostalgic journey of one most beloved holiday albums, created by Vince Guaraldi for the 1965 TV special of the same name. Performed by the Peter Shea Trio, this show takes the best of jazz, serves it up with traditional holiday music, and provides a wonderful tradition that will delight the entire family.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
This year the PETER SHEA TRIO and friends features:
PETER SHEA: Piano and Vocals
(Co-creator of the TD Niagara Jazz Festival and Twilight Jazz Series)
With his long musical lineage, Peter Shea is considered one of Niagara’s premier Multi-instrumentalists. (Piano, drums + percussion and vocals.) Peter graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in Jazz Performance and Composition and arranges, composes and performs world wide. His extensive resume includes touring across Canada with comedian Sean Cullen; performing at the world famous Edinburgh Comedy Festival on both piano and drums (including several live performances on BBC Television & Radio); performing on piano with the Jersey Boys in Toronto; a cross-Canada tour with the “Just for Laughs” Road Show including the Pantages and Massy Hall theatres. As a jazz musician he has also had the unique privilege of performing with many great Canadian jazz artists including Phil Dwyer, Mike Malone, Kevin Turcotte, John Sherwood, Davide Direnzo, Graham Lear, Robi Botos, Liberty Silver, Mike Daley (Jeff Healey Band), Duncan Hopkins, and Gord Sheard. Peter runs the Twilight Jazz Series (now in its 7th year) the TD Niagara Jazz Festival (going into its 5th year) with his wife and musical partner Juliet Dunn. He hopes that you enjoy his tribute to the late great Vince Guaraldi.

DOUG MUNDY: Piano
Doug Mundy, a long time Niagara resident, began studying piano at 10 years of age concentrating on Royal Conservatory of Music repertoire. At age 14, Doug began experimenting with improvisation, mainly playing around with simple blues progressions and pop/rock solos. By age 16, Doug was already performing in rock, blues and country ensembles around the Niagara and Hamilton Regions.
Blues improvisation led to the formal study of music (and history) at Mohawk College, York University and Brock University. Doug has studied jazz harmony, arranging, form and analysis and counterpoint. At York University, Doug had the privilege of studying with Canadian jazz great Don Thompson as well as seminars with Dr. Oscar Peterson.
Doug is currently one of the most in demand musicians in the Niagara area. He is active accompanying vocalists, leading his duo and trio, working as a sideman on gigs and in the studio, as well as performing solo piano at various functions. Doug has recently completed a tour of New Zealand working with a collection of the country’s finest Jazz musicians.
CLARK JOHNSTON: Upright Bass
Clark Johnston started his professional career as a bassist in 1994 and has since had the opportunity to work with the likes of Peter Appleyard, Diana Panton, Reg Schwager, and Don Thompson–just to name a few. He performs regularly with Drew Jurecka, Adrean Farrugia, James Brown, Neil Brathwaite, Ashley St Pierre as well as many other great musicians.
Clark has released three CDs with Shields Johnston Fielding featuring his original compositions and can be heard on many other people’s recordings.
He holds a master’s degree in music composition as well as a Bachelor of Education from York University. Clark is currently on faculty at Mohawk College, McMaster University, and Hillfield Strathallan College.
ADAM FIELDING: Drums
Adam Fielding is a versatile drummer born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario. He has been active on the local music scene for twenty years performing and recording a variety of styles with some of Canada’s finest. He studied under Jim Blackley, Kevin Dempsey, Bob McLaren, Ted Warren, Sean O’Grady and Master tabla player Achyut Ram Bhandari in Nepal. Adam holds his Music Diploma from Mohawk College and was awarded the Lee Hepner Scholarship and maintained Honour Roll status. He continued his education at the University of Toronto majoring in Jazz Performance. In recent years Adam has had the privilege to perform, record or tour with many great artists such as Bob Shields, Clark Johnston,Tara Davidson, Adam Ostrosser, Gary Smulyan, John Sherwood, Richard Whiteman, Rob Somerville, Mike Filice, Rob Fekete, Saul Rosselli, Pat Collins, William Carn, Mike Malone, Chris Gale, Dave McMurdo, Meredith Nelson, Darcy Hepner, Mary McKay, Jay Burr, Eric Boucher, Tianna H, Brian Griffith, Kelly Jay (Crowbar), Dinner Belles, Derek Hines, Tartan Terrors, Brisco’s Blues Revue, Mark Ucci, Jay Reed, Juliet Dunn, Peter Shea, Warren Stirtzinger and Carnival Cruise Lines. Currently Adam maintains a busy teaching and performance schedule.Recording, performing, touring and teaching…drummer for hire!
