Fort George Speakers Series: When Antiques Attack: The story of the Battle of Fort George as told through artifacts

2023 marks the 210th anniversary of the Battle of Fort George, and Parks Canada and the Friends of Fort George are planning programs and events to commemorate this anniversary. To kick things off, we are hosting a Speaker Series inside Navy Hall called Fireside Fridays in February, which will feature hour-long presentations including original artifacts from the War of 1812 with a specific emphasis on the Battle of Fort George.
Tickets are $15.75 (taxes included) per event or $47.25 (taxes included) for the series of all four.

Dan Laroche has been at Fort George since 1988 and has been Manager/Supervisor of Fort George for the past 20 years. He has done years of research on Fort George and was one of the authors of the new publication “Fort George: A History”. Mr. Laroche will tell the story of the Battle of Fort George using original artifacts from the War of 1812. Guests will get the opportunity to see and in some cases get their hands on these artifacts, many of which have not yet been seen in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
