United Way Niagara is pleased to announce the appointment of Brad Steeves, President of Beatties, as the 2023 Campaign Chair.
“I am so honoured and humbled to be serving as the 2023 Campaign Chair for United Way Niagara,” said Brad Steeves, President of Beatties. “I have been involved with the United Way campaign for many years and I am really excited to now have the opportunity to lead it. It has never been more critical to support our community. It’s what we strive to do at Beatties every day, and it’s what I personally believe in. I’m looking forward to a very successful campaign.”
Beatties and United Way Niagara have a longstanding relationship spanning many decades. In addition to raising funds for United Way through their annual employee giving campaign for more than 20 years, Beatties also supports United Way through corporate sponsorships and donations, in-kind donations and through employee volunteerism. Over the years Beatties has made substantial gifts to United Way, including their $50,000 donation as the 2014 Leadership Challenge Sponsor and their $25,000 donation as the 2019 Corporate Donor Challenge Sponsor.
Recently, thanks to Brad’s leadership, Beatties sponsored and hosted United Way’s Backpacks for Kids Program. “The support from Beatties for the 2023 Backpacks for Kids program was critical to its success,” said Frances Hallworth, CEO of United Way Niagara. “With their assistance, we were able to store supplies in the Beatties warehouse, host more than 40 volunteers to pack the bags, and transport the finished products to school boards.”
Last year United Way Niagara’s investments in local programs and initiatives impacted the lives of 175,000 people – a number that has never been higher.
“The need for more support is evident given the sheer number of people accessing services,” said Steeves. “I am committed to working with the Campaign Cabinet, staff and community to do everything we can to raise these vital funds.”
“We are so excited to welcome Brad to the United Way team. Brad has been a dedicated supporter of United Way for many years and is passionate about making Niagara a better place for everyone who lives here,” said Frances Hallworth, CEO, United Way Niagara. “We are looking forward to the upcoming campaign and our continued partnership with Brad and Beatties that continues to drive change in local communities” said Hallworth.
The 2023 Campaign will kick-off on September 12. Visit the United Way Niagara website and follow their social media channels to learn more about the upcoming campaign and how you can get involved.
