The Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre is delighted to announce its continued partnership with STAY Niagara-on-the-Lake and Tourism Niagara-on-the-Lake for the third consecutive year. For the 2025-2026 tourism map, Julia Kane’s captivating painting, First Impression, has been selected as the cover design.
“We are delighted to once again partner with the Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre to showcase a talented local artist on our tourism map cover,” said Al Legal, President of STAY Niagara-on-the-Lake. “Julia Kane’s artwork beautifully captures the historic Cenotaph and the lush greenery that defines Niagara-on-the-Lake. Her vibrant depiction of this beloved landmark perfectly reflects the character and beauty of our town.”
Rima Boles, Director of the Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre, adds: “We are thrilled to continue our collaboration with STAY Niagara-on-the-Lake, celebrating the intersection of art and tourism while showcasing the incredible talent within our region. Featuring local artwork on the tourism map allows us to share the rich arts and culture scene with the millions of visitors who explore the town each year.”
Julia Kane, a contemporary Canadian artist who resides in St. Davids is known for her vibrant palette. She draws inspiration from the lush agriculture of the Niagara region, often painting vineyards, orchards, nature, and flowers from her garden.
For this year’s STAY Niagara on the Lake map competition, Kane submitted a special watercolour piece, marking her return to the medium after several years. First Impression captures a springtime view upon entering Niagara-on-the-Lake’s ‘old town’ from the south, where the iconic Cenotaph along with the vibrant greenery and flowers welcome visitors to the main street. Through this work, the artist hopes to evoke joy and a fresh appreciation for the town’s beauty.
The STAY Niagara-on-the-Lake Tourism Map serves as a valuable resource for those looking to explore the town’s many attractions. Offering visitors a comprehensive guide to all that Niagara-on-the-Lake has to offer, the map also includes a listing of short-term accommodation options. Distributed by Stay Niagara-on-the-Lake members, Tourism Niagara-on-the-Lake, local businesses, and Tourist Information Centres, 60,000 copies of the 2025-2026 season maps are set to be released in May 2025.
